Winners of the "Teacher of the Year" competition announced: each to receive 616 million soums

The "Teacher of the Year" competition, organized for the first time in Uzbekistan, has concluded. Each of the educators who won first place at the national level will be awarded a cash prize of 616 million soums.

More than 46,000 educators from across the country participated in this year's competition. Ultimately, 208 teachers were declared winners. The list of winners was announced by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.

Starting from 2026, the "Teacher of the Year" competition is scheduled to be held once every two years. Candidates will participate in one subject they teach, while primary school teachers will participate in the primary education direction. Registration is carried out through the ministry's special platform.

The competition is held in three stages. In the first stage, candidates' theoretical knowledge of their specialty subject, pedagogical skills, and professional standards is assessed. In the second stage, pedagogical skills are evaluated by a jury and educators, and a video recording of the lesson conducted by the candidate is uploaded to a special platform. In the third stage, the candidates' spiritual-enlightening activities and reading habits are assessed.

Educators who win the competition will be awarded a one-time cash prize in the amount of 1,400 times the BCA (Base Calculating Amount). In addition, special attention is also paid to rewarding the mentors who prepared the competition winners.
