For the first time in Uzbekistan: 120 young people in 10 practical professions were awarded the Presidential Prize
On August 8, 2026, the winners of the republican stage of the “Creators of New Uzbekistan” national competition of professional skills were solemnly awarded for the Presidential Prize. The first season of this competition, which is scheduled to be held annually starting in 2026, became a new format for widespread recognition of practical professions and young people who master them in the country.
For the first time in Uzbekistan, 120 young people were awarded the Presidential Prize in 10 practical professions.
The competition covered 10 professions that are important for everyday life, construction, industry, service, medical and social sphere and digital economy. These include medical and social care, cooking, dry construction and plastering, electrical installation, welding technology, plumbing, fashion technologies, car maintenance, hairdressing and computer graphics.
Interest in the competition was very high. 270,518 candidates registered through the "Digital Neighborhood" platform, more than 124 thousand of whom participated in the preliminary selection. The process covered more than 9 thousand neighborhoods in the country. As a result of the selection, which consisted of district and city, regional and republican stages, 700 young people reached the republican stage.
According to the final results, 2 first place winners, 4 second place winners and 6 third place winners were determined in each professional area. Thus, a total of 120 winners and prize-winners were awarded in 10 areas. Of them, 20 were gold, 40 silver and 60 bronze medals.
The winners were awarded medals, certificates and vouchers confirming one-time cash prizes. In accordance with the regulations, the first place winner is encouraged with a cash prize of 20 times the basic calculation amount, the second place winner is encouraged with 15 times, and the third place winner is encouraged with 10 times.
Another important aspect of the competition is that the work of the teacher who prepared the winner is also particularly appreciated. The first place winner will receive a one-time cash prize of 100 BHM, the second place winner will receive 80 BHM, and the third place winner will receive 60 BHM.
The purpose of the "Creators of New Uzbekistan" competition is not limited to identifying and awarding winners. It is aimed at increasing young people's interest in the profession, strengthening healthy competition among middle-level specialists, and encouraging professional skills and practical work. The fact that the competition areas are linked to the real needs of economic sectors and the labor market also increases its practical significance.
The next opportunity for the winners of the republican stage is related to the international arena. They will undergo additional training in the relevant professions, including with the participation of WorldSkills International specialists. In the event that the number of participants in the international championship is limited, additional qualifying may be held. The winner of the WorldSkills Championship will receive a Presidential Award in the amount of 1 billion 30 million soums.
In this sense, the first season of the competition showed that the skills of plumbers, welders, cooks, electricians, auto mechanics, builders and other practical professions can also receive deserved recognition, medals and major awards at the national level. The competition was established as a new national system that serves to increase the attractiveness of professions among young people, raise the prestige of labor and provide the economy with specialists with modern practical skills.
