President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated teachers and mentors on their professional holiday, which is celebrated on October 1.

He called the education of the younger generation "the most important and noble profession in the world," and "knowledge and enlightenment, education and culture" — "one of the inexhaustible sources of strength and growth of the potential of New Uzbekistan, our immense achievements and noble qualities."

"A school is like a garden of the future, which means a teacher is a gardener skillfully nurturing the sprouts of hope, a spring of kindness and care, a beacon of enlightenment. Therefore, we will never tire of elevating and appreciating the work of employees in such a responsible field," the President stated.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that "today, among our most impressive achievements, the most significant are the results of reforms in the field of education." According to him, many problems that existed ten years ago have already been solved, obstacles that hindered forward movement have been overcome, the education sector is dynamically developing, and the teaching profession is becoming increasingly honorable.

"The next decade will be an era of national progress for us; we have set even higher goals for ourselves," the head of state declared.

"Henceforth, we will reorganize the work of instilling in children a love for the Motherland, pride in it, a sense of involvement in its destiny, and respect for our history and culture in the family, mahalla, schools, technical colleges, and universities in a new way. At the same time, we must strictly follow the demands of today's complex times. The call 'Educating the younger generation is a sacred duty, a task for the entire society' must find resonance in the heart of each of us, becoming a measure and meaning of our daily life," the President noted.

He expressed confidence that teachers and mentors, "well understanding the immense importance of shaping the youth of Uzbekistan as a generation that strives forward, inspired by the noble idea 'For the sake of the Motherland, for the sake of the nation and the people!', will take an active part in these processes, relying on their vast knowledge and rich experience, talent and skill."
