According to the president, over the past ten years, the educational infrastructure in Uzbekistan has expanded significantly. New kindergartens and schools have appeared, and Presidential, specialized, and creative schools have been developed. The number of higher education institutions has grown from 77 to 205, and the enrollment of youth in higher education has reached 45 percent.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also focused separately on measures to increase the prestige of the teaching profession. Currently, about 40,000 teachers receive a salary of 1,000 dollars, and another 1.5 thousand educators receive more than 2,000 dollars.

This year, the "Teacher of the Year" competition was also held in a new format. For the first time, 208 winners of the district and city stages received cash prizes totaling 616 million soums. Starting from 2027, it is planned to introduce similar incentive mechanisms for kindergarten educators and masters of technical schools.

The president also cited the achievements of Uzbekistan's students. In 2026, the country's schoolchildren won 228 medals at international olympiads. About 100,000 students received certificates in foreign languages and individual subject disciplines, and about 5,000 graduates scored maximum points upon admission to higher education institutions.

According to the PISA results, Uzbek 15-year-old students rose by 32 positions and took 48th place in the ranking.
