Wash It Clean
Starting December 1, 2026, government employees in Uzbekistan will be able to submit complaints against their bosses through the "Safe and Respectful Work Environment" portal, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced. In the first phase, the system will cover government organizations and companies with a state share of at least 50%.
The portal will accept reports of pressure, violence, and discrimination at work. It will also be possible to file a complaint regarding actions taken via phone or the internet — for example, calls, messages, and correspondence.
If the complaint concerns a boss or another official, the system will forward it to a higher authority.
The portal will store information about the investigation and its results, as well as details on the measures taken. This data cannot be deleted after the investigation is completed. If there are signs of an administrative offense or a crime, the materials will be forwarded to the competent authorities via the 112 service.
Supervisors can be punished for sexualized and physical violence, as well as harassment.
Separately, it is proposed to punish psychological pressure, discrimination, and retaliation against an employee after they file a complaint. Such actions may be recognized as a violation of labor discipline.
