Uzbekistan youth team advances to Asian Games quarterfinals as group leaders
The Uzbekistan U23 national team defeated Vietnam 2:0 in the 3rd round of the group stage of the Asian Games taking place in Japan, securing first place in the group. Now, head coach Ravshan Haydarov's trainees face a match against Saudi Arabia in the quarterfinals.

The football tournament of the XX Summer Asian Games continues in Nagoya, Japan.
The Uzbekistan U23 national team played its final group stage match against Vietnam and won with a score of 2:0. The goals were scored by Muhammadali Urinboev and Nurlan Ibraimov.
Following this success, the Uzbek team's points reached 9, and the team advanced to the quarterfinals in first place in the group.
Now, head coach Ravshan Haydarov's players face a match against Saudi Arabia in the quarterfinals. The match will start on September 25 at 10:00 Tashkent time.
As a reminder, according to the regulations of the Asian Games football tournament, teams can include 3 players over the age of 23 alongside players under 23. The Uzbekistan national team is participating in the tournament with an under-21 squad. This was done so that the team participating in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualifiers can gain sufficient experience.
The Asian Games football tournament has been held since 1990. Iran and South Korea have won the championship 3 times each in the competition. Uzbekistan (in 1994), Qatar, and Japan have also won gold medals.
