The junior and youth weightlifting teams of Uzbekistan demonstrated impressive results at the Asian Championships held in Tashkent. In one day of competition, the athletes added seven gold, six silver, and five bronze medals to their team's tally.

Shakhnoza Khaidarova was particularly outstanding. In the junior 69 kg category, she won all three events: the snatch, clean and jerk, and the combined event. In the youth category, she took first place in the snatch and combined event, and won a silver medal in the clean and jerk.

Among the juniors, Otabek Karimov won another gold medal in the 85 kg weight class, finishing first in the snatch. In the same category, he also won two bronze medals – in the clean and jerk and the combined event.

In the youth 85 kg category, Khikmatillo Khaidarov won the snatch, took silver in the combined event, and earned bronze in the clean and jerk.

In the junior 69 kg category, Nurkhaiet Kobilova won silver in the clean and jerk and the combined event, as well as bronze in the snatch. Azizbek Kutbiddinov won two more silver medals in the 85 kg category – in the clean and jerk and the combined event. He also won bronze in the snatch.

The day before, the Uzbekistan team won four medals. The day before, women's weightlifting at this tournament won three gold, six silver, and one bronze medal.
