Uzbekistan to continue updating school textbooks
The next tasks of reforms in school and higher education were reviewed. It is planned to prepare more than 1,300 textbooks and educational-methodological materials by 2027.

In the portrait of a graduate of the New Uzbekistan school, in addition to knowledge, great importance is attached to modern skills, strong command of information technologies, creative and independent thinking, as well as decision-making skills. The work on updating textbooks and educational content is aimed precisely at achieving this goal.
International experience was studied during the preparation of new educational materials. Textbooks for primary grades have been certified by the Education Alliance Finland, while textbooks in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology for grades 5–7 have been developed based on Singaporean textbooks.
The new approach clearly defines what a student should know and be able to do at the end of each grade. The educational standard, curriculum, textbook, and assessment are aligned with each other, with special attention paid to the age-appropriateness of topics, their sequence, and the ability to apply knowledge in practice. A total of 1,342 titles of textbooks and teaching materials are planned to be prepared by 2027.
The textbooks feature tasks aimed at developing critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity skills. It is intended that the child will not be limited to memorizing a ready-made answer, but will ask questions, analyze information, justify their opinion, and find solutions collaboratively.
Career guidance occupies a special place in the educational materials. In this area, 255 lessons have been developed, which are designed to help children realize their interests and make an informed career choice in the future. Through the characters in the textbooks, values such as friendship, responsibility, courage, and respect are revealed to children using relatable examples.
