Uzbekistan entered the top five at the World Nomad Games
The national team of Uzbekistan at the VI World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan won 19 medals and took fifth place in the overall medal standings. The athletes secured four gold, four silver, and 11 bronze awards.
The competitions took place from August 31 to September 6. About 3,000 athletes from 113 countries participated, competing for medals in 43 disciplines.
In the final standings, Uzbekistan placed right after Mongolia, which had 21 medals — five gold, three silver, and 13 bronze. At the same time, in terms of the number of gold awards, the Uzbek team was second only to four countries.
Kazakhstan won the Games. Its athletes won 32 gold, 20 silver, and 22 bronze medals — 74 awards in total. Kyrgyzstan took second place with 84 medals, although only 30 of them were gold. Russia finished third with 36 awards, including seven gold.
It is worth noting that in the final standings, places were distributed by the number of gold medals, so the total number of awards does not always correspond to the team's position.
Earlier in this tournament, the national team of Afghanistan withdrew from the kokpar competition. The team made this decision after a 1:4 defeat to Uzbekistan, explaining their departure by problems with horses.
