Uzbekistan boxing team finished the Asian Games with 2 gold medals

Today, on the 13th day of the Asian Games, the Uzbekistan men's boxing team entered the ring for final bouts in three weight categories.

First, Turabek Khabibullaev, who represented Uzbekistan in the weight category up to 90 kilograms, competed against China's Huayejiang Han. The Uzbek boxer dominated completely throughout the fight, and the judges unanimously declared him the winner — 5:0.

The 22-year-old boxer, who had previously won Asian and World Championship titles, became an Asian Games champion for the first time. He had returned with a bronze from the Asian Games in Hangzhou.

In the next final, in the weight category up to 60 kilograms, Abdumalik Khalokov entered the ring against South Korea's Donghwan Jang. In this fight as well, the Uzbek boxer, who was seen as the favorite, achieved a confident victory in the end — 5:0.

For Khalokov, who is the reigning Olympic champion, two-time world champion, and Asian champion, this was his second championship at the Asian Games. He was also unmatched in his weight class in the previous tournament.

In the third final, in the +90 kg weight category, Jakhongir Zokirov lost to Kazakhstan's Aibek Oralbay — 0:5. Thus, he had to settle for a silver medal.

Prior to this, it was known that Firuza Kazakova (-51 kg), Sitora Turdibekova (-60 kg), Fazliddin Erkinboyev (-70 kg), and Shavkatjon Boltayev (-80 kg) lost in the semifinals and returned with bronze medals.
