The delegation of Uzbekistan won its first gold medal at the Asian Games taking place in Japan.

Abdulvaxob Rashidov, who competed in the -67 kg weight category in karate, defeated all his opponents and became the champion of the competition.

Our compatriot prevailed over the host athlete Yugo Kozaki in the final.

Earlier, Humoyunmirzo Halimov, who participated in the -55 kg weight category in karate, won the silver medal of the competition, while Nodirbek Shavkatov, who competed in the -71 kg weight category in the modern direction of mixed martial arts, won the bronze medal.
