Uzbekistan delegation wins its first medal at the Asian Games

The delegation of Uzbekistan has won its first medal at the ongoing Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Summer Asian Games in Japan.

Humoyunmirzo Halimov, who competed in the -55 kg weight category in karate, won the silver medal of the competition. The Uzbek athlete reached the final, but lost the decisive match to Joloman Bigabil of Kazakhstan. The bronze medals went to Maxsatillo Muminov of Tajikistan and Kaliana Sundram of Malaysia. Thus, the delegation of Uzbekistan concluded today's competition day with one medal.

For information, the XX Asian Games are being held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4. The karate competitions take place from September 20 to 23.
