At the Asian Games taking place in Japan, Uzbekistani boxer Turabek Khabibullaev won a gold medal.
In the final match of the -90 kg weight category, he entered the ring against Han Xuezhen of China and won by a unanimous decision of the judges with a score of 5:0.
"First of all, our country's flag was raised high, and we justified the trust of our president. I am happy about this. Last time it was a bronze medal. I promised my father, 'Dad, God willing, the next one will be a gold medal.' I kept my promise and achieved the gold medal," Khabibullaev said after the fight.
Thus, the number of gold medals in Uzbekistan's tally has reached 17.
