Uzbekistan has increased its number of gold medals to 16 and continues to pull away from its closest pursuer, Thailand.
Members of the Uzbekistan delegation participated in 12 sports on the 11th day of the 2026 Asian Games.
During the day, another 9 medals were added to the delegation's tally: 2 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze. All of these medals were won in judo, Greco-Roman wrestling, and boxing.
In today's program, 4 representatives of the Uzbekistan judo team took to the mat, and three of them won medals.
Laziza Haydarova faced Japan's Kondo Mitsuki in the quarterfinals and was defeated. Since the Japanese athlete reached the final (she also became the champion of this weight category), Haydarova got a chance to fight for bronze, but the Uzbek athlete also lost to Ahliya Muminova of Tajikistan in the repechage match for the medal.
Siti Kadamboyeva brought another gold medal to Uzbekistan. She defeated Kazakhstan's Meruyert Sarsenova in the quarterfinals, Mongolia's Uranzaya Bayanmunkh in the semifinals, and South Korea's representative Jang Seyun in the final.
Samariddin Kuchkorov settled for bronze.
In the opening round, he defeated Nepal's Vikas by ippon, in the next round he overcame Ruslan Poltoratskiy, representing Bahrain, by yuko, but lost to Japan's Hayato Kondo by waza-ari in the semifinals. In the match for the medal, he defeated Tajikistan's Loyiq Kudbudinov thanks to waza-ari and yuko scores.
