Asian Games Diary. Two Golds in Kurash
In the kurash competition, the semifinal match turned into a duel between Uzbek kurash wrestlers. Additionally, three boxers from Uzbekistan secured their spots in the semifinals. Anastasiya Bakhtireva and Violetta Yevenko (both European champions), who changed their sports citizenship on the eve of the Asian Games to represent Uzbekistan, failed to achieve a result in the artistic swimming competition.

On September 27, representatives of the Uzbekistan delegation participated in 13 sports at the 2026 Asian Games. At the end of the day, 2 gold and 2 bronze medals were won.
In today's competitions, 4 representatives of the Uzbekistan kurash team took to the mat.
Ibodatxon Agojonova defeated Rauza Nurmakhamedova of Kazakhstan in the preliminary round (3:0), overcame Demura Karen of Japan in the quarterfinals (5:0), and in the semifinals, wrestled another representative of Japan, Kuroki Natsumi, defeating her as well (10:0). In the final, she also defeated Li Wan-Ting of Chinese Taipei to win the gold medal.
Fotima Qodirova defeated Pham Nguyen Hong Mo of Vietnam in the qualifying round (5:0) and beat Zarina Saripova of Kazakhstan in the round of 16 (3:0), but in the quarterfinals, she could not overcome Kuroki Natsumi of Japan (0:5), who later lost to Agojonova in the semifinals.
Bekmurod Oltiboyev started his participation from the quarterfinals and pinned Durenbayar Ulziibayar of Mongolia (1:0), but in the semifinals, he lost to another Uzbek kurash wrestler, Shohruxxon Baxtiyorov (0:3), and settled for bronze.
Shohruxxon Baxtiyorov won the decisive match against Shakarmamad Mirmamadov of Tajikistan (5:0) to claim the title of Asian Games champion.
The Uzbekistan boxing team also suffered losses in today's program.
