The main result of the third competition day of the Asian Games in Japan was three silver medals won in mixed martial arts and wushu.

On September 22, at the 2026 Asian Games held in Aichi and Nagoya, representatives of Uzbekistan competed in 15 sports. The third day of competition resulted in three silver medals won in MMA and wushu. In addition, the Olympic football team completed the group stage with a maximum score.

Uzbekistan immediately took two medals in mixed martial arts

Firdavs Otamurodov won silver in the modern discipline in the under 60 kg weight category. In the final, the Uzbekistani fighter faced Mirzobek Umarov of Tajikistan and lost with a score of 0:3.

Another silver medal in the women's MMA tournament was won by Khilola Sabirova. In the final of the traditional discipline in the under 60 kg weight category, she lost to Singapore's Teo Hui Hoon.

The third silver of the day was brought by Darya Latisheva. In the wushu competition in the nanquan and nandao disciplines, the Uzbekistani athlete scored 19.413 points and took second place. This medal became the third Asian Games award in Latisheva's career.

Footballers secured their third consecutive victory

The Olympic team of Uzbekistan completed the group stage of the football tournament with a victory over Vietnam — 2:0.

Ravshan Khaydarov's team finished the group stage with a perfect record — 3 wins in 3 matches and 9 points. In the quarterfinals on September 25, the Uzbekistanis will play against Saudi Arabia.
