Uzbekistan and Turkey intend to increase mutual trade in agricultural products

The Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held a meeting with a delegation visiting our country, led by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey, İbrahim Yumaklı.

During the talks, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector, available opportunities, and promising joint projects. Special attention was paid to strengthening the partnership, in particular, organizing the next meeting of the working group on the development of agricultural cooperation.

In addition, the parties reviewed the main areas of interaction, including the development of animal husbandry and the fodder base, expanding ties in seed production, and breeding crop varieties resistant to drought. Views were also exchanged on increasing the number of entrepreneurs engaged in the mutual export and import of agricultural products, developing fish farming, and strengthening ties in the field of science.

As part of the program, the Turkish delegation led by İbrahim Yumaklı, accompanied by Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, visited the Tashkent State Agrarian University, where they familiarized themselves with the conditions created for students, the modern infrastructure, and the training process for young specialists.
