Uzbekistan and the EU to discuss investing in the Trans-Caspian corridor and simplifying border procedures

On September 30, the second national conference on the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor in Tashkent will consider issues of attracting investment in railways and highways, digitizing transport documents, and facilitating border crossings.

The conference is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the European Commission's Directorate-General for International Partnerships. The event will be attended by representatives of government agencies, international financial institutions, transport and logistics companies.

Participants will discuss projects that are of priority for Uzbekistan on the route between Central Asia and Europe. In addition to road development and border procedures, the agenda also includes the logistics network, the digitalization of trade and transport documents, and the involvement of private business.

The conference is held within the framework of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor Coordination Platform, funded under the European Union's Global Gateway strategy. The platform brings together the five Central Asian countries, the European Union, international financial institutions, and other partners to coordinate investments and reforms along the route.
