Uzbekistan and Romania intend to expand cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector

Uzbekistan and Romania are exploring new areas of cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry.

Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Sector, held a meeting with Daniel Cristian Ciobanu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Uzbekistan.

The parties focused on the implementation of joint production projects, technology transfer, as well as the development of scientific and educational cooperation.

Daniel Cristian Ciobanu emphasized the high level of conditions created in Uzbekistan for the development of the pharmaceutical industry. As a successful example of cooperation between the two countries, he cited the activities of the Rompharm NS joint venture.

During the negotiations, the involvement of Romanian pharmaceutical companies in the implementation of joint production projects in Uzbekistan was also considered.

Laboratory activities, scientific research, and the training of qualified specialists for the pharmaceutical industry were identified as specific areas of cooperation.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in the further development of practical cooperation and the implementation of joint initiatives in the pharmaceutical sector.
