Uzbekistan's underground has entered the TOP-20 in terms of the number of applications among 195 countries of the world
Uzbekistan has found itself in the top 20 countries by the number of applications for the IX CARDO International Award in the field of street culture and sports among 195 countries of the world (the UN lists 193). The award is organized by the presidential platform "Russia — Land of Opportunity."
The Grand Final of the ninth season is taking place in Vladivostok from September 17 to 20, 2026. For the first time in the project's nine-year history, the decisive stage is being held in the Russian Far East.
The main venue is the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) on Russky Island: the stadium here has been transformed into a single KARDO space, which combines sports grounds, a skate park, ramps, as well as zones for rap battles, lectures, and creative workshops.
More than 500 finalists from 195 countries have arrived in Vladivostok. Approximately 45% of the finalists represent foreign nations. The KARDO Award started nine years ago as a Russian street culture festival and has since evolved into an international platform bringing together participants, experts, and representatives of street communities from all over the world.
"KARDO is more than just a competition. It is a space where young people from different countries can develop their talents, exchange experience, and find new opportunities through sports, culture, and creativity," noted Andrey Betin, Director General of the Presidential Platform "Russia — Land of Opportunity."
The program includes competitions in 13 disciplines across three categories: extreme sports (BMX, inline skating, kick scootering, skateboarding), street sports (tricking, workout, freerunning, parkour), and street culture (DJing, graffiti, rap, hip-hop, breaking).
In addition to the competitions, participants can expect educational lectures, masterclasses, and meetings with industry experts, as well as a video contest, a grant competition, a competition for young streetwear designers, and the presentation of awards for contributions to the development of the industry.
