The Silk Road Uzbekistan international run series will continue in Khiva

On September 13, 2026, at ____ AM, the autumn stage of the Silk Road Uzbekistan international run series will begin on the territory of the Arda Khiva tourist complex. This sporting event will gather professional athletes, students, and running enthusiasts from Uzbekistan and other countries.

Arda Khiva is a new tourist and cultural complex where traditional historical motifs are combined with modern infrastructure for recreation, travel, and mass events. It is located four kilometers from Itchan Kala — the historical center of Khiva, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The organizers of the run series across the cities of Uzbekistan are the Central Asian Running and Walking Academy, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The project is implemented with the support of JSC "Uzbektelecom" and the National Bank of Uzbekistan.

"The Silk Road runs are not only sports competitions, but also an opportunity to combine running, travel, and getting to know the cultural heritage of the country, primarily the history of the Great Silk Road. I am confident that the run in Arda Khiva will provide vivid impressions and become a new stage in the development of running culture in Uzbekistan and the whole of Central Asia," noted Shukhrat Usmanov, Director of the Central Asian Running and Walking Academy.

The program includes 5 km and 10 km runs, Nordic walking competitions, as well as Kids Run children's races at distances of 250 and 500 m for participants born between 2018 and 2021.

Students from leading universities of the Khorezm region — participants of the Talaba Yugur movement — will take to the start line alongside running enthusiasts. Representing their educational institutions, they will compete for the title of the region's most active university in promoting sports, physical activity, and a healthy lifestyle.

A special place in the program is occupied by the Inson Uchun inclusive run, an integral part of the Silk Road Uzbekistan project. Its participants will be the first to start and will cover a specially prepared one-kilometer route laid out across the territory of the Arda Khiva complex.

The total prize fund of Silk Road Khiva will amount to 69 million soums. Cash prizes are provided for participants finishing from first to sixth place in the men's and women's categories. For the 10 km distance, the prizes are: 1st place — 6 million soums, 2nd — 5 million, 3rd — 4 million, 4th — 3 million, 5th — 2 million, 6th — 1 million soums; for the 5 km distance: 1st place — 3.5 million soums, 2nd — 3 million, 3rd — 2.5 million, 4th — 2 million, 5th — 1.5 million, 6th — 1 million soums.

Winners and runners-up of the Kids Run will receive valuable gifts from the organizing committee and partners.

The participation fee will range from 100,000 to 200,000 soums, depending on the chosen distance. The starter pack includes a bib number with a chip and a set of safety pins, a backpack, a cap, and a T-shirt from the Spanish sports brand Joma, one of the leading manufacturers of gear for professional athletes and amateurs.

Every participant who completes their chosen distance will receive a commemorative medal. ч

The starter pack can be picked up on September 11 and 12 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the race Expo at the address: 41 Boltaev Street (landmark: Itchan Kala).

The next runs will take place on September 27 in Shahrisabz and on October 11 in Andijan.
