**Uzbek Senators Hold Talks with UK, Irish and Russian Delegations**

Members of the Senate of Uzbekistan met with parliamentary delegations from the United Kingdom, Ireland and Russia on the sidelines of the 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Samarkand, the Senate’s press service said.

The UK delegation included A. Cairns, a member of the Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee on International Development, and D. Carden, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee. The two sides discussed the further development of multifaceted relations and the strengthening of interparliamentary cooperation.

At a meeting with the Irish delegation, headed by James O’Connor, chairman of the parliament’s Committee on Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, the sides discussed intensifying interparliamentary cooperation, the use of IT and new agricultural technologies, and cooperation in education.

The parties also looked at expanding cooperation within international parliamentary organizations and implementing joint projects in the context of partnership with the European Union.

During a meeting with A. Trembitsky, deputy chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the sides discussed further strengthening interparliamentary relations between Uzbekistan and Russia.

The meeting noted that cooperation between the two countries was developing at the level of comprehensive strategic partnership, supported by the political will and trusting relations between the leaders of the two states.
