Tolls on the "Urgench – Khiva" road for passenger cars and motor vehicles have been reduced
The Ministry of Transport has approved temporary rules for using the "Urgench – Khiva" (T-001) toll road, which opened at the end of August. The document, which entered into force on October 2, also establishes the toll rates for this road.
They are expressed as a percentage of the base calculating value (BCV). For passenger cars and motor vehicles, the rates turned out to be a third lower than previously proposed. For other types of transport, they remained unchanged.
With the current BCV of 440,000 soums, the toll cost is:
The temporary rules will remain in effect until the Cabinet of Ministers adopts a resolution on the procedure for using toll roads.
According to the document, payment can be made via an electronic personal account, at a toll collection point, or using deferred payment. With a barrier-free system, a vehicle can pass without stopping — its license plate and travel time are automatically recorded.
If a driver chooses the deferred payment method, a notification is sent to them, after which they are given 5 working days to clear the debt. In case of non-payment, the operator has the right to go to court. In addition, the information may be transferred to other government agencies to restrict the possibility of undergoing technical inspection, re-registration, transfer to another person, export from Uzbekistan, and other legal actions.
The toll road is closed to heavy and oversized vehicles, vehicles carrying dangerous goods, agricultural machinery, special construction machinery and mechanisms, bicycles, mopeds, and scooters with an engine capacity of up to 25 cc or power up to 0.25 kW, pedestrians, as well as towed vehicles.
