Temporary procedure for using the "Urganch–Khiva" toll road has been approved

The temporary regulation on the procedure for using the "Urganch–Khiva" toll road has been state registered.

According to it, before the start of the road's operation, the operator will announce information regarding tariffs, payment methods, and the alternative free route. Additionally, the use of the toll road will be carried out on the basis of a public contract between the operator and the user.

This document comes into force from the day of its official publication and will remain in effect until the entry into force of the Cabinet of Ministers' decision establishing the procedure for using toll roads.

The cost of the Urgench-Khiva highway, the first toll road in Uzbekistan, is $150 million, said Anvar Davletov, First Deputy Governor of Khorezm region. At the beginning of the year, when construction began, the total cost of the project was estimated at $120 million. Thus, during the construction work, which was carried out in parallel with the design work, the cost of the project increased by $30 million, or 25 percent.
