The UK will strengthen support for Ukraine's air defense
The United Kingdom will allocate an additional £100 million (nearly €117 million) in military aid to strengthen Ukraine's air defense system. The new package will include, among other things, missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.

The new aid package is aimed at increasing Ukraine's capabilities to defend itself against Russian attacks during the winter season.
As part of the package, it is planned to send missiles for US-made Patriot air defense systems. The British government has not yet disclosed what other weapons or military equipment will be included in the aid.
London's new aid package was announced ahead of the next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the "Ramstein" format. The meeting will be co-chaired by UK Defence Secretary John Healey and German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius. This group unites about 50 countries supplying military equipment and weapons to Ukraine.
Healey said that air defense support is particularly important for Ukraine during the winter period. He indicated that Russia could continue attacks on civilian and energy facilities in Ukraine during the winter season.
In March of this year, the UK also announced a £100 million aid package for Ukraine's air defense. At that time, London announced that the total volume of its commitments to support Ukraine's air defense had reached £600 million within two months.
In general, since the start of Russia's war against Ukraine, the UK has committed to providing Kyiv with £16 billion, or approximately €18.7 billion, in military aid.
In addition, in June, the British government announced the allocation of £752 million to supply Ukraine with 150,000 drones, more than 350 air defense missiles, and radar systems. These deliveries are planned to be carried out by the end of 2026.
According to London, more than 250,000 drones, 8,000 missiles, and 350,000 artillery shells have been delivered to Ukraine so far. The UK has also trained more than 60,000 Ukrainian military personnel.
The UK plans to provide around £3 billion in military aid to Ukraine annually until 2030–2031. In 2026, British military support to Ukraine is expected to reach £3.75 billion.
