Social Protection Agency and World Bank Discuss New Approaches to Issuing Benefits

The National Agency for Social Protection, together with representatives of the World Bank, discussed the development of new criteria for including citizens in need in the Social Register.

The meeting was held as part of the implementation of tasks set during a video selector meeting with the President on September 3. The participants paid special attention to the introduction of a multidimensional approach, which will allow for a more accurate assessment of the socio-economic situation of families.

The new methodology envisages taking into account not only family income, but also other significant social factors. Among them are the presence of disability, chronic diseases, having many children, as well as the fact of family members working abroad.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on joint steps to establish criteria that will ensure more targeted delivery of social benefits to citizens who are truly in need.
