The National Agency for Social Protection has been instructed to revise the procedure for including citizens in need in the "social register" by the end of the year.
Under the new approach, not only family income will be taken into account, but also additional factors such as disability, the presence of chronic illnesses, having many children, and the fact of one of the family members working abroad.
Overall, the poverty rate in the country has decreased to 3.9%, but among families with children under the age of 3, this figure reaches 6.5%. Against this background, the President announced plans to establish a system that will allow parents caring for children to obtain work and income at home or in the mahalla.
