Presidents of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discussed cooperation in energy, transport, and industry

During the working visit program to Baku, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

At the beginning of the conversation, the head of Uzbekistan congratulated the leader of Azerbaijan on the successful chairmanship in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia and the hosting of its seventh summit.

The sides reviewed topical issues of the further development of strategic partnership and alliance in the context of the practical implementation of agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan in August this year.

The meeting participants noted with satisfaction fruitful contacts at all levels and a 30% increase in mutual trade turnover since the beginning of the year.

Joint cooperation projects in geology, energy, construction, transport and logistics, light industry, tourism, and other spheres are in an active phase, and a rich program of cultural and humanitarian exchange is being implemented.

In addition, the heads of the two states exchanged views on the regional and international agenda and discussed the schedule of upcoming events.
