Mirziyoyev and Putin discussed cooperation and upcoming meetings

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation, the international agenda, and the schedule of upcoming events. Mirziyoyev also congratulated Putin on his birthday.

During the conversation, the leaders noted the growth of mutual trade and industrial cooperation, including in the energy sector. They also positively assessed the outcomes of the recent meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the third Council of Regions, which took place in Fergana.

The presidents touched upon cultural and humanitarian ties. The Russian art festival "World of Art" was recently held in Uzbekistan, and the Days of Uzbek Culture are currently taking place in Moscow.

It was noted that from January 1, 2027, the presidency of the CIS will pass to Uzbekistan. The republic will also host the next meeting of the Commonwealth heads of state.
