Uzbekistan and Russia discussed new projects and trade

Uzbekistan and Russia held talks on new projects and trade relations.

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Alexey Gruzdev met to discuss the progress of joint initiatives in sectors such as energy, geology, chemical industry, transport, logistics, agriculture, and construction. This was announced by Jamshid Khodjayev on his LinkedIn page.

According to Khodjayev, the current scale of bilateral cooperation requires continuous practical interaction and monitoring to ensure that the agreements reached translate into tangible results.

Trade relations were also a focus. Uzbekistan's exports to Russia grew by 14.5%, which, Khodjayev noted, confirms the stable dynamics of bilateral trade relations.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed preparations for the upcoming 27th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and the third meeting of the Council of Regions, which are proposed to be held in October. In addition, the possibility of organizing a series of mutual business missions between the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia was discussed. These events are expected to facilitate the further development of practical cooperation at the regional level.

Khodjaev emphasized that work will continue in two key areas: promoting already agreed-upon projects and identifying new areas for practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia.
