President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was honored with a state award of Serbia — the Order of the Republic of Serbia, 1st Class. He was presented with this award for his special contribution to the development and strengthening of peaceful cooperation and friendly relations between the two countries.

The award ceremony took place as part of Mirziyoyev's state visit to Serbia. Earlier in Belgrade, an official meeting was held between the Uzbek leader and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, after which the heads of state proceeded to high-level negotiations.

The Order of the Republic of Serbia is among the country's highest state awards.

The leaders of the two countries agreed to expand cooperation in industry, trade, transport, pharmaceuticals, and the digital economy. Following the negotiations, the parties adopted an Action Plan for the development of industrial partnership for 2026–2028 and signed an agreement on mobility and labor migration.
