Uzbekistan and Serbia have elevated bilateral relations to a new stage: an Action Plan for industrial partnership has been adopted

The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Serbia held historic talks in Belgrade, giving a new impetus to multifaceted cooperation. The main outcome of the meeting was the approval of the Joint Action Plan for the development of industrial partnership for 2026–2028, which will become the foundation for the implementation of large-scale projects in trade, logistics, and manufacturing.

The first official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Serbia marked the transition of bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level. A solid basis for this will be the joint Action Plan for 2026–2028, aimed at implementing all reached agreements and high-quality industrial cooperation.

Key areas of partnership

Trade and economy: the parties have begun work on a Free Trade Agreement, and also agreed on product standardization and holding cross-exhibitions. Uzbekistan will also present its national pavilion at "EXPO 2027" in Belgrade.

Industrial cooperation: joint projects have been formed in the production of automotive components, electrical engineering, and equipment, as well as in pharmaceuticals, food, and light industries.

Labor migration and logistics: an agreement on mobility and labor migration was signed to build systematic cooperation in this area, and steps were outlined for the development of transport and logistics corridors.

Interregional ties: the establishment of direct sister-city relations was recorded between the Samarkand region and the autonomous province of Vojvodina, as well as between the cities of Samarkand and Novi Sad.

To monitor the timely implementation of all points of the adopted Action Plan and accompanying agreements, the parties will approve a comprehensive "road map".
