The need for school buses is being studied in Tashkent

How students travel to school and whether there is a need for school buses is being studied in the city of Tashkent.

A survey was conducted on September 5 by the Traffic Management Center in Tashkent. This survey was organized to identify the possibilities of launching school buses in the capital, determine the level of need for them, and consider the issue of introducing this system if necessary.

The survey indicates the home location; the school and grade where the child studies; the time of leaving for school; the type of transport used; and whether there is a need for a school bus.

If there are several children in the family, information about them is entered separately.

"Your answers in it are of great importance in organizing a more convenient and safe school commute for your child," the center's message says.

It is noted that personal data is not collected in the survey. The results will be used only for general analysis.

After the start of the educational process in schools and other educational institutions in Tashkent, the movement of vehicles and pedestrians around educational institutions may increase significantly, causing traffic jams on some streets. For this reason, the capital's Main Department of Internal Affairs recommended that citizens use public transport as much as possible in order to prevent traffic jams and ensure the safe arrival of pupils and students at educational institutions.

In August 2025, at a session of the Tashkent City Kengash of People's Deputies, the possibilities of launching school buses in the capital were discussed.

The launch of free school buses for students of 715 schools located in remote and mountainous areas of Uzbekistan is specified in the "Uzbekistan – 2030" strategy, approved by a presidential decree.
