Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan reveals over 600 thousand violations during housing inspections ahead of the heating season
In Uzbekistan, large-scale inspections of the housing stock ahead of the start of the heating season revealed over 607 thousand safety rule violations. These preventive measures are aimed at preventing fires and carbon monoxide poisoning cases during the autumn-winter period.
Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported the interim results of preparations for the 2026/2027 heating season at a press conference in Tashkent.
Specialists have already inspected more than 20 thousand multi-story buildings, about 900 thousand apartments, and 1.5 million private houses. Inspectors paid special attention to the serviceability of gas equipment and heating stoves, as well as the condition of chimneys and ventilation ducts.
To date, out of 607.6 thousand identified shortcomings, public utilities and property owners have managed to eliminate about 536.6 thousand.
Similar inspections were also conducted at social sector facilities. In kindergartens, schools, universities, and medical institutions, rescuers recorded 137 thousand violations, almost 90% of which have already been eliminated to date.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that more than 70% of all fires in the country occur precisely in the residential sector, and urged residents of the republic to strictly observe the rules for operating heating appliances and to check ventilation performance in a timely manner.
Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations recommended that residents of Uzbekistan install gas detectors at home near gas stoves and heating appliances.
