The Ministry of Emergency Situations has advised citizens of Uzbekistan to install gas detectors near stoves and heating appliances

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has recommended that residents of Uzbekistan install gas detectors in their homes near gas stoves and heating appliances. The ministry pointed out that with the onset of the autumn-winter period, the risk of incidents related to household gas leaks and carbon monoxide poisoning increases.

A leak can be caused, for example, by an extinguished flame while the gas supply continues. It is especially dangerous to leave operating gas appliances unattended: a person may forget about a turned-on stove or kettle and fail to notice that the fire has gone out.

A gas detector helps to detect a leak in time and warn the people in the house. A video published by the ministry also mentions devices that automatically shut off the gas supply when triggered. The Ministry of Emergency Situations recommends using such devices for additional protection of the home and its residents.

It is also reported that in the Urtachirchik district of the Tashkent region, representatives of three generations of one family died from carbon monoxide poisoning. The tragedy occurred in a private house where the residents had moved in just a few days before the incident.
