The largest number of foreign students studying in Uzbekistan comes from India.
Students from more than 50 countries study in our country. Medicine is the most popular program among foreigners.

India leads the way in the number of students studying in Uzbekistan.
Currently, 24,647 foreign citizens are studying at higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. A significant number of them—13,060—are Indian citizens. They are followed by students from Turkmenistan (4,884), Pakistan (1,165), and Kazakhstan (1,129).
Medical studies is the most popular program among international students, attracting 16,476 students, representing approximately 67% of the total number of international students.
Among the educational institutions hosting the largest number of international students are Tashkent State Medical University (4,155), Samarkand State Medical University (4,153), National Research University TIIAME (2,886), Bukhara State Medical Institute (2,178), and the National University of Uzbekistan (1,917).
The top ten universities by number of international students also included the Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health, Andijan State Medical Institute, Urgench State Medical Institute, Termez branch of Tashkent Medical University, and Tashkent State University of Economics.
