Inter-Parliamentary Union highlighted the results of the youth forum in Samarkand

At a meeting of the Governing Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the results of the 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, held in Samarkand, were recognized. The outcomes of the event were reviewed within the framework of the organization's 153rd Assembly in Tanzania.

The Assembly took place from October 5 to 9 in the city of Arusha. During the sessions, representatives of parliaments from various countries paid attention to the results of the September conference in Uzbekistan, which was dedicated to the protection of human rights, justice, and human dignity.

The Samarkand forum gathered about 250 delegates from 58 countries and representatives of 11 international organizations. Young parliamentarians discussed the protection of youth rights in conditions of armed conflicts, digital security, unemployment, and climate change. Following the meeting, the participants adopted a document containing common approaches to addressing these problems and strengthening the role of youth in political life.

The Inter-Parliamentary Union also noted Uzbekistan's contribution to hosting major international parliamentary events. Previously, Tashkent hosted the organization's 150th anniversary Assembly, while Samarkand became a platform for discussing global youth initiatives.

Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated Uzbekistan's readiness to create an international platform for exchanging experience in the field of youth policy. The initiative was voiced during an address to the participants of the conference in Samarkand.
