A conference of young parliamentarians has opened in Samarkand
The XII Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians has begun its work in Samarkand, with the participation of representatives from various countries and young parliamentarians.
On September 4, the 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, organized at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, started in Samarkand.
The international forum is attended by representatives from various countries and young parliamentarians, as well as the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Oktam Salomov and heads of several higher education institutions.
At the beginning of the event, a welcoming address from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was read out to the conference participants.
Then, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva delivered an opening speech and officially opened the conference, welcoming its participants.
The conference program includes open dialogues and discussions on topics important to youth and their participation in socio-political life.
Participants are discussing youth rights in the digital world, issues of decent work and economic empowerment, climate change, as well as the role of young people and their participation in political processes.
To ensure international cooperation within the framework of the conference, 168 young volunteer translators have been involved.
Among them are master's and undergraduate students of the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages.
The young volunteers help facilitate communication between participants, accompany foreign guests, and assist in organizing the international event.
The 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians will continue until September 6.
Within the framework of the event, participants from different countries are considering issues of youth empowerment and their participation in decision-making at the international level.
