It is planned to establish direct relations between the Namangan region and Emilia-Romagna, one of the most economically developed regions of Italy. The regions may cooperate in the fields of industry, investment, innovation, and artificial intelligence.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Abat Fayzullayev, held a meeting with the President of the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, Michele de Pascale.
During the conversation, it was noted that interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy has been rapidly developing in recent years. Within this framework, the issue of establishing direct relations between the Emilia-Romagna and Namangan regions was discussed.
The parties noted that the high industrial and manufacturing potential of the two regions could serve as a solid foundation for cooperation. In particular, it was mentioned that there are opportunities to expand cooperation in the production of high value-added and export-oriented products.
Additionally, the issues of attracting Emilia-Romagna companies to implement promising investment and industrial projects in Uzbekistan, as well as expanding technological and innovative cooperation between the two regions, were considered.
During the negotiations, special attention was paid to the field of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing technologies. The prospects of implementing joint initiatives with Uzbekistan using the existing infrastructure in Emilia-Romagna were discussed.
For reference, Emilia-Romagna is one of the most economically and industrially developed regions of Italy. In 2025, its gross regional product amounted to nearly 203 billion euros. The region ranks second in Italy in terms of GRP per capita.
Emilia-Romagna has high potential in mechanical engineering, the automotive industry, the agro-food industry, packaging technologies, and pharmaceuticals. World-famous companies such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ducati, Max Mara, Technogym, Pagani, Dallara, and Barilla also operate in this region.
