The authorities of the Fergana region and Mitsui & Co. discussed new investment projects in the oil industry, water supply, tourism, and other sectors.

An expansion of investment cooperation with the Japanese company Mitsui & Co., Ltd. was discussed in the Fergana region. On September 4, the regional khokim Khayrullo Bozorov held a meeting with a delegation led by Tomo Shingo, Chief Representative of the company's representative office in Uzbekistan.
During the talks, the parties reviewed prospects for launching new projects using Japanese technologies, as well as expanding investment cooperation in the Fergana region.
The meeting participants emphasized the consistent development of strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Japan and the transition of bilateral cooperation to a new level.
Particular attention was paid to expanding interregional ties, increasing the number of projects involving Japanese investors, and supporting new investment initiatives. The parties attribute an important role in this direction to mutual visits of delegations.
It was noted at the meeting that the Fergana region pays special attention to the introduction of Japan's advanced experience.
In particular, in the field of education, a Japanese teaching methodology was introduced on an experimental basis. In the region's higher education institutions, specialist training is also conducted using modern approaches.
Mitsui & Co., Ltd. is a global trading and investment company headquartered in Tokyo. It operates in 62 countries, and its representative office in Uzbekistan has been active since 1993.
The company implements investment projects in energy, infrastructure, transport, agriculture and the food industry, the chemical sector, digital technologies, logistics, and other fields.
During the negotiations, proposals were put forward for the implementation of joint projects in the oil industry, water supply, fruit and vegetable processing, infrastructure, tourism, and education.
Taking into account the business areas of Mitsui & Co., the parties agreed to take measures to further actively develop cooperation and promote promising projects.
The negotiations were also attended by Tulkinjon Rakhimov, Chief Representative of the Mitsui & Co., Ltd. representative office in Kazakhstan, and Mirzokhid Ubaydullaev, First Deputy Khokim of the Fergana region.
