The first Urgench-Khiva toll road is being launched in Uzbekistan

The first toll road in Uzbekistan is being put into operation on the Urgench-Khiva route. This was announced by Shavkat Mirziyoyev during an open dialogue with entrepreneurs in Khorezm.

Along with the launch of this new 35-kilometer-long Urgench-Khiva highway, it was noted that the number of weekly flights has increased from 16 to 102, and railway services from 8 to 41.

The Head of State noted that in recent years, completely new conditions have been created for entrepreneurship in Khorezm. In a short period of time, $4 billion in foreign investment has been attracted to the region, and 10,000 new production facilities have been launched.

The Hazorasp special economic zone and 31 industrial zones have been established. Power plants with a total capacity of 275 megawatts have been built in Tuproqqala and Yangiarik, providing enterprises with a stable energy supply.

It is reported that today 72 percent of the economy of Khorezm is small business. The share of small business in exports has reached 81 percent, taking the first place in the republic.

The "Arda Khiva" tourist complex has been built on an area of 25 hectares, and entrepreneurs have organized 331 hotels and guest houses with 7 thousand beds. This year, 3 million foreign tourists are expected to visit Khorezm.

The "Star of the Desert" tourist complex, which will include hotels, shopping and entertainment facilities, will also be built in Khiva.

According to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, today Khorezm is becoming a center of new opportunities for entrepreneurs.
