The Children's Ombudsman sent a submission to the ministry regarding the case of violence that occurred in a kindergarten in Namangan

The Children's Ombudsman submitted a representation to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education regarding the case of sexual violence committed against a child being raised in a preschool education organization.

The Children's Ombudsman's submission emphasized the need to critically evaluate the results of the official investigation being conducted into this incident, to eliminate the identified shortcomings, and to take measures to hold the responsible employees accountable in accordance with the established procedure.

It also demanded the elimination of the causes and conditions that allowed the incident to occur, the prevention of such situations from repeating in the future, and the taking of necessary measures to prevent them.

The submission noted the need to strengthen measures to strictly ensure children's safety in all preschool education organizations of the republic.

In particular, it requested that responsible officials conduct targeted inspections over the performance of professional duties by the organizations' employees, review internal control mechanisms aimed at ensuring children's safety, and eliminate identified shortcomings.

In accordance with the legislation, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education must provide information to the Children's Ombudsman within 15 days regarding the work carried out on the implementation of the submission. Copies of relevant documents must also be attached to the report.

The Children's Ombudsman stated that they will continue to exercise parliamentary control over compliance with children's rights in the activities of state bodies.

As a reminder, it was reported that sexual violence was committed against a 5-year-old pupil in one of the state preschool education organizations in the Uchkurgan district of the Namangan region.

The 52-year-old suspect was detained in accordance with procedural order, and a preventive measure of detention was applied against him.
