It has been revealed that a warehouse manager at a kindergarten in Namangan raped a 5-year-old female pupil

It has been revealed that a warehouse manager working in one of the state kindergartens in the Namangan region committed the crime of raping a 5-year-old female pupil.

This situation was confirmed by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the representative of the Children's Ombudsman.

It is reported that a criminal case regarding this sexual violence committed against the child was initiated on September 12 by the Investigation Division of the Uchkurgan District Department of Internal Affairs of the Namangan region.

"On the very same day, the suspect K.M. was immediately detained in accordance with procedural order, and a preventive measure of detention was applied against him. Currently, preliminary investigation actions are being carried out on the criminal case," the Children's Ombudsman's statement reads.

A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Part 4 of Article 118 (rape of a person under the age of fourteen) and Part 1 of Article 112 (threat to kill or use violence) of the Criminal Code.

It is added that the Children's Ombudsman, within the scope of its powers in these proceedings, is monitoring the protection of the legal interests of the victim child.

As a reminder, on March 3, the president signed a decree aimed at putting an end to cases of violence and harassment against women and children. It stipulated that by amending the legislation, starting from November 1, 2026, persons convicted of committing crimes provided for in Articles 118 and 119 of the Criminal Code against minors will be included in the category of convicts who are not transferred to open-regime colony settlements.

Consent was expressed to the proposal to establish life imprisonment or long-term imprisonment, respectively, for persons previously convicted of crimes against the sexual freedom of minors, as well as crimes related to having sexual intercourse with them and committing indecent-immoral acts, when they commit the crimes of raping a person under the age of 14, or satisfying sexual desire in an unnatural form using violence against a person under the age of 14. The Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Supreme Court, the National Agency for Social Protection, and the Ministry of Justice were instructed to submit a draft law providing for this within three months.
