18-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted in Namangan will pay a fine

An 18-year-old girl in Namangan was fined for hitting a man who groped her on a public bus. The Daryo newspaper reported this, citing court documents.
The incident occurred on July 27, 2026. A man born in 1959 grabbed a girl born in 2007 by the thigh and groped her. The girl hit the man in response.
According to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the injuries sustained by the man are considered minor injuries that did not harm his health.
The court found the man guilty of committing an offense under Part 1 of Article 41-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility and imposed a fine of 824 thousand soums, twice the basic calculation amount.
The girl was found guilty of committing an offense under Part 2 of Article 52 of the Criminal Code. Taking into account mitigating circumstances and her personal situation, she was fined half the amount of the Criminal Code - 206,000 soums.
Earlier, a doctor in Fergana was sentenced to 5 days in prison for sexually abusing a colleague. It was reported that a coach in Syrdarya was also sentenced to 5 days in prison for sexually abusing a former student. The fine imposed on the girl was canceled by the decision of the appellate court.
**Punishment for sexual misconduct**
According to Article 41-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, sexual misconduct, that is, actions of a sexual nature towards a person that are unacceptable to him and humiliate his honor and dignity, expressed in describing the appearance or figure of a person, gestures, touching, calling, committed once or several times, shall entail a fine of two to five times the basic calculation amount or administrative detention for a term of up to five days.
If the same offenses are committed repeatedly within a year after the imposition of an administrative penalty, they shall entail a fine of five to seven times the basic calculation amount or administrative detention for a term of up to fifteen days.
