The "3–30–300" standard will be introduced in the neighborhoods of Uzbekistan
In Uzbekistan, a two-month campaign focusing on cleanliness and tidiness will be held starting October 1, 2026. From 2027, the "Green Neighborhood" package will be introduced, and 90 percent of the fines collected for ecological violations will be directed to neighborhood funds.
The "3–30–300" standard will be introduced in the neighborhoods (mahallalars) of Uzbekistan. This is specified in the President's Decree No. PF-206 dated September 23, 2026, "On measures to strengthen the role of neighborhoods in the implementation of the 'Yashil Makon' (Green Space) nationwide project and to radically increase the level of greening of territories."
### "3–30–300" standard in every neighborhood
The decree sets the goal of introducing the international "3–30–300" standard in every neighborhood, which envisages three trees for every person, 30 percent tree canopy cover, and a green area within 300 meters.
By 2030, the number of green gardens and green public parks will be increased to 1,023. In particular, the creation of 257 such gardens and parks is planned for the autumn season of 2026.
Additionally, by 2030, at least five shaded pedestrian streets with a total length of at least 10 kilometers will be established in each district and city.
Starting October 1, work will begin on identifying locations for green areas, preparing the land, and creating stocks of seedlings and shrubs. The tree planting season will start on the following dates by region:
- From November 1 — in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region;
- From November 5 — in Bukhara and Navoiy regions;
- From November 10 — in Andijan, Jizzakh, Samarkand, Sirdaryo, Namangan, Tashkent, and Fergana regions, as well as Tashkent city;
- From November 20 — in Surxondaryo and Qashqadaryo regions.
The Ecology Committee has been granted the right to make changes to these deadlines.
During the two-month period, ditches, drains, canals, and public areas will be cleared of waste and prepared for seasonal precipitation. Improvement works will be carried out around neighborhoods, multi-apartment buildings, social facilities, and other public places.
From January 1, 2027, the "Greening the Neighborhood" package will be introduced within the framework of the "Yashil Mahalla" (Green Neighborhood) project.
