In the mornings, chaos often arises near schools: children get out right at the edge of the roadway, and drivers have to maneuver through heavy traffic. Now, Tashkent has decided to bring order to the situation — special zones are being created near schools where parents can safely drop off and pick up their children.

The work is being carried out by the Traffic Management Center (TMC) in cooperation with other relevant organizations. The first such zones have already been set up near School No. 5 in the Yunusabad district and School No. 42 in the Shaykhantakhur district.

Road signs have been installed and road markings applied in the new areas. They designate places intended for short-term stops of vehicles.

The main goal of the innovation is to eliminate chaotic stops directly at school entrances and to prevent children from having to get out of cars right onto the roadway. At the same time, this should make traffic near schools more organized during the busiest hours — in the morning and after classes end.

Parents will be able to drop off and pick up children in specially designated areas without blocking the path of pedestrians or creating obstacles for other cars.

Currently, there are plans to equip similar zones near other schools in the capital.

Earlier, the Tashkent Traffic Management Center began studying the ways students travel to educational institutions and the population's need for school buses. Parents were invited to take a survey via a special Telegram bot.
