In Tashkent, the demand for a school bus system is being studied: a survey has already covered 58,369 students in 29 schools of the capital.

Tashkent has begun a practical study of options for implementing the School Bus system. This initiative is designed to make travel for students to the capital's schools safer and more convenient, according to the Tashkent Transport Control Center (TSCC).
In the first stage, specialists are analyzing the needs of parents, finding out how schoolchildren currently get to educational institutions, and gathering information to subsequently establish bus routes.
At present, the survey has been conducted in 29 of Tashkent's 328 schools. Priority was given to educational institutions with the largest number of students, where high demand for specialized school transportation is anticipated. Family members or guardians of 58,369 schoolchildren participated in the study.
According to preliminary data, 38.5% of students walk to school. Another 33.1% are brought by parents in personal cars. Buses are used by 18.3% of schoolchildren, taxis by 5.7%, and the metro by 3.5%. Another 0.9% use micromobility devices.
At the same time, 73.5% of the survey participants indicated that they would like to see specialized bus transportation for schools. The Tashkent TSCC emphasizes that the results obtained indicate a significant potential demand for the School Bus system.
The survey is planned to be continued in stages across the remaining schools in the capital. Upon completion of the study, specialists intend to analyze student passenger flows, determine high-demand routes, the required number of buses, and their schedules.
In addition, issues regarding the organization of safe pick-up and drop-off locations for children and other organizational aspects of the future system will be studied.
Based on the results of the analysis, the practical feasibility of launching the School Bus system will be assessed. Subsequently, in cooperation with relevant organizations, the gradual implementation of the system in Tashkent will be considered.
Parents have been urged to participate in the survey via the Telegram bot @school_coddbot. The responses received should help determine the potential number of school bus users, as well as the required number of vehicles and routes.
