Tashkent plans to attract $10 billion in investments in 2027

In 2027, Tashkent expects to attract $10 billion in investments and ensure the creation of 150,000–200,000 permanent, high-paying jobs. These goals were outlined by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at a meeting dedicated to the development of the capital.

In 2026, the volume of investments in the city's 12 districts is expected to reach $9 billion. To accelerate the implementation of projects, the authorities intend to strengthen work directly on the ground: representatives of republican and city agencies will visit the districts weekly to promptly resolve issues arising for investors.

At the same time, a major complex of improvement works is planned in the capital. One trillion soums will be allocated for the renovation of 100 streets, and another 10 trillion soums is earmarked for a four-year program to improve 400 mahallas.

Special attention will be paid to the historical part of the city. A unified concept for the development of the Old City must be prepared by November 1, with foreign companies planned to be involved in its design.

The changes will also affect public spaces. A 20-kilometer continuous pedestrian route is intended to be created along the Bozsu canal.

The authorities also expect to partially solve transport problems through the introduction of intelligent transport systems. According to data presented at the meeting, about 1.5 million vehicles travel on the streets of Tashkent daily.

For start-up entrepreneurs, there are plans to increase the maximum size of an unsecured loan from 100 million to 200 million soums.

Thus, in the coming years, the capital intends to focus on several areas at once: attracting major investments, creating jobs, upgrading urban infrastructure, improving mahallas, and developing small businesses.
