The President's meeting on the city of Tashkent has begun
Under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a videoconference meeting is being held dedicated to the socio-economic development of the city of Tashkent, increasing investment and employment, and creating modern infrastructure in neighborhoods.
At the beginning of the meeting, it was emphasized that in today's complex situation, it is necessary to fully utilize the existing opportunities of each district and neighborhood, and to adopt a new approach to increasing added value, investment, and high-income jobs.
It was noted that each of the capital's districts should specialize in specific areas based on their potential.
In particular, there is a great opportunity in Sergeli, Yangihayot, and Bektemir districts to build large logistics complexes specialized in sorting, packaging, distributing, and delivering goods entering Tashkent.
It was pointed out that in Shaykhontohur, Mirzo Ulugbek, Mirabad, Yunusabad, and Yakkasaray districts, it is possible to form a $2 billion capital market and create 20-25 thousand high-income jobs by increasing modern business and financial centers.
Meanwhile, Olmazor, Chilonzor, and Uchtepa have the potential to attract at least $1 billion in investment and create 15-20 thousand jobs in the fields of education, medicine, trade, and services.
The meeting also reviewed the effectiveness of the system for working with investors in the city of Tashkent.
This year, it is planned to attract $9 billion in investment across the 12 districts of the capital. However, it was noted that in some areas, work needs to be further accelerated to reach the set targets.
It was decided to introduce a special working system to resolve investors' issues directly on-site, without them having to go from office to office. Officials at the republican and city levels will visit the districts every week, meet with entrepreneurs and investors, and promptly resolve their problems.
For issues requiring high-level solutions, well-founded proposals will be prepared on the same day and submitted to the Presidential Administration. This procedure will be under special control until the end of the year.
The task was set to develop a concrete plan to attract $10 billion in investment to the capital next year and create 150-200 thousand permanent high-income jobs.
