President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has enacted a decree outlining additional strategies for Tashkent's socio-economic advancement through 2026 and 2027. This directive encompasses a broad spectrum of objectives spanning industry, investment, infrastructure, tourism, trade, youth initiatives, and urban development.

The decree targets an 11.7% increase in Tashkent's gross regional product (GRP) for 2026. During the same year, industrial production is slated for an 8.5% rise, market services for a 19% expansion, and construction activities for a 17.3% boost. Moreover, the capital intends to draw $9 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2026, with an anticipated increase to $10 billion by the close of 2027.

The document also introduces several new pilot mechanisms, effective until January 1, 2031. These provisions include the expansion of special economic and industrial zones, the offering of turnkey business projects through electronic auctions, the construction of multi-story industrial facilities, and the execution of urban renovation programs.

Furthermore, the decree mandates the adoption of the "15-minute city" urban planning model, an increase in green areas, and the establishment of a water resources management center. Focus will also be placed on fostering gastronomic and night tourism, creating youth creative parks, and promoting the book trade.

The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan has been assigned the responsibility for coordinating and overseeing the decree's execution.
